The Trinity Railway Express (or TRE) is a commuter rail line in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It was established by an interlocal agreement between Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T). Each transit authority owns a 50% stake in the joint rail project and contractor Herzog Transit Services operates the line. The TRE began operating in December 1996.
As of the fourth quarter of 2014, the TRE has an average weekday ridership of 8,200 passengers per day and is the fifteenth most-ridden commuter rail system in the United States. In 2014, the TRE carried 2,293,500 passengers.
Before 2006, the TRE was typically shown as a green line on DART maps and therefore was sometimes referred to as the “Green Line,” but this was not an official designation. In 2006, DART chose green as the color for its new light rail route, the Green Line. Since 2006, the TRE has been shown as a dark blue line on DART maps.

This is a list of the world’s record-breaking top speeds achieved by a street-legal production car (as opposed to concept cars or modified cars). For the purposes of this list eligible cars are defined in the lists rules. This list uses the same definition as the List of automotive superlatives for the sake of consistency and because the term production car is otherwise undefined. The Benz Velo, as the first production car, is an exception.

Dallas Car Sharks is an automotive reality show currently airing on Velocity that takes place in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It documents four competing car dealers (JD Cole, Martha Davis, Ash Rabah, and Tommy Spagnola) as they buy used cars at auction, refurbish them, and then attempt to flip (sell) them for a profit. Martha Davis and JD Cole are mother and son, and although they share a garage, their businesses are separate.
The series, which premiered July 22, 2013, is produced by AMS Pictures, with Andy Streitfeld as its executive producer and Randy Martin as its senior producer. In August 2013, Discovery Communications senior vice president Robert Scanlon was promoted to general manager of Velocity, a network that he had helped to grow to No. 46 in the males aged 25–54 demographic with original shows such as Dallas Car Sharks, Fantomworks, and What’s in the Barn? Scanlon also helped the network to move up 22 slots and out-deliver competing networks that had larger numbers of subscribers, such as NBA TV, MLB Network, and Golf Channel.
In March 2014, Discovery Communications announced that Dallas Car Sharks would return for its second season on April 2, 2014. Along with other similar programs such as Overhaulin’, What’s in the Barn?, and Wheeler Dealers, Dallas Car Sharks helped to drive ratings growth for Velocity in the second quarter of 2014, especially among male viewers and in the 25–54 age demographic. In April 2014, Dallas resident Bruce Kahn sued AMS Pictures for breach of fiduciary duty, claiming that the series was his idea and that he is entitled to profit sharing.
The show, along with other automotive reality programs such as Fantomworks, Garage Squad, Graveyard Carz, and West Coast Customs, has drawn criticism for both being too predictable in terms of plot and making automotive restoration look much easier than it actually is.

Used Car Roadshow was a car programme that was originally aired on the Men & Motors channel, but now it is also shown on ITV4. The show is presented by Penny Mallory and Jason Dawe. The show airs for one hour.
Each programme is filmed at car shows throughout the United Kingdom, where enthusiasts display their cars and collections, as well as some who are wanting to sell and buy cars.
Penny and Jason always attempt to pick the most eye catching and unusual cars at these shows, as well as demonstrating bargains that can be had from the used car market.
Every programme has a different scenario, where a viewing member of the public is looking to buy a used car. Scenarios can vary from the budget-conscious student wanting to spend no more than £1500, to the mid 20 year old wanting a sports car for no more than £20,000. There are also in betweens who want something economical, or good for long distance touring, or for the family. They give Jason the specifications they want, and the things they would like and not like.
Throughout the show Jason comes up with different cars to suit the buyer’s needs, summarising the positives and negatives. He often picks three cars, with one mystery car thrown in to interest the buyer. Normally the buyer is given three cars to examine and decide from with the guidance of Penny and Jason throughout, from which one has to be dropped before the other two can be tested. The test drive is normally taken with Penny on board, who gives her opinions on the car to give the buyer a better insight as to what they may want.
If the buyer decides that he/she does not like one of the cars, then Jason will throw in his mystery car to liven things up.
In the end the buyer usually makes a decision on the car they want, and attempts to negotiate with Jason, who consequently rings the seller on air from a mobile and tries to achieve the best deal possible for the buying member of the public. As of 2009, no new series/episodes had aired.

Electric car use by country is a measure of the adoption of electric vehicles around the world. The popularity of electric vehicles has been expanding rapidly due to their increased acceleration and range, government subsidies and environmental sensitivity. Electric vehicles (EVs) are divided into battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that run only on batteries and plug-in hybrids that combine battery power with internal combustion engines (PHEVs). As of the end of 2016:
Cumulative sales of highway legal EVs reached 2 million units, of which 38% were sold in 2016.
Sales of light-duty EVs achieved a 0.86% market share of new car sales, up from 0.62% in 2015 and 0.38% in 2014.
The global ratio between battery BEVs and PHEVs was 61:39, up from 59:41 at the end of 2015.
Cumulative sales of PHEVs totaled almost 800,000 units.
Adoption of electric vehicles varied by country, affected by consumer demand, market prices and incentives. As of 2016:
China had the largest stock of highway legal light-duty plug-ins with cumulative sales of more than 645,000 EVs or 43.0% of the global stock. China’s EV bus market reached 173,000 vehicles in 2015
More than 637,000 light-duty passenger EVs had been registered in Europe, representing 31.4% of global sales. Sales in the European light-duty EV segment were led by Norway (135,000 units), followed by the Netherlands (113,000) and France (108,000).
Norway had the highest market penetration per capita in the world, as well as the largest EV segment market share of new car sales (29.1%) with 135,000 plug-ins. 5% of all vehicles on Norwegian roads were plug-ins. Iceland had 9% EV penetration (as of July 2017). France was the largest European market for light-duty electric commercial vehicles or utility vans, forming almost half the market. Denmark, witnessed its EV market penetration plunge to 0.1% as of July 2017 due to the end of subsidies.

The United States had more than 570,000 EVs, California accounted for approximately 48% of cumulative US plug-in sales at about 270,000 units.
Japan had 147,500 plug-ins.

The Cars are an American rock band that emerged from the new wave scene in the late 1970s. The band originated in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1976, with singer, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter Ric Ocasek; singer and bassist Benjamin Orr; lead guitarist Elliot Easton; keyboardist Greg Hawkes; and drummer David Robinson.
The Cars were at the forefront in merging 1970s guitar-oriented rock with the new synthesizer-oriented pop that was then becoming popular and which would flourish in the early 1980s. Robert Palmer, music critic for The New York Times and Rolling Stone, described the Cars’ musical style by saying: “they have taken some important but disparate contemporary trends—punk minimalism, the labyrinthine synthesizer and guitar textures of art rock, the ’50s rockabilly revival and the melodious terseness of power pop—and mixed them into a personal and appealing blend.”
The Cars were named “Best New Artist” in the 1978 Rolling Stone Readers’ Poll and won “Video of the Year” for “You Might Think” at the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984. Their debut album, The Cars, sold six million copies and appeared on the Billboard 200 album chart for 139 weeks. As of 2001, the Cars have sold over 23 million albums in the United States.
The band broke up in 1988, and Ocasek later discouraged talk of a reunion. Orr died in 2000 from pancreatic cancer. In 2005, Easton and Hawkes joined with Todd Rundgren to form a spin-off band, the New Cars, which performed classic Cars and Rundgren songs alongside new material. The original surviving members reunited in 2010 to record a new album, Move Like This, which was released in May 2011, followed by a short tour. In 2015, they were nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Used Cars is a 1980 American satirical comedy film, co-written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, and directed by Zemeckis. Rudy Russo (Kurt Russell) is a devious car salesman working for affable but monumentally unsuccessful used car dealer Luke Fuchs (Jack Warden). Luke’s principal rival, located directly across the street, is his more prosperous brother, Roy L. Fuchs (also played by Warden), who is scheming to take over Luke’s lot. The film also stars Deborah Harmon and Gerrit Graham, and the supporting cast includes Frank McRae, David L. Lander, Michael McKean, Al Lewis, Dub Taylor, Harry Northup, Dick Miller, and Sarah Wills.
The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and his long-time writing partner Bob Gale. The executive producers were Steven Spielberg and John Milius. The original music score was composed by Patrick Williams. Filmed primarily in Mesa, Arizona, the movie was released on July 11, 1980. Although not a box-office success at the time, it has since developed cult film status due to its dark, cynical humor and the Zemeckis style. It was marketed with the tagline “Like new, great looking and fully loaded with laughs.” It was the only Zemeckis film to be rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America until 2012’s Flight and 2016’s Allied.
